I once had a discussion with a friend who is a doctor. As a person sword to care for others, he was staunchly against the death penalty.  I am staunchly for it in certain cases. I know, I know. As the Innocence Project has shown us, there are many people convicted of crimes who are completely innocent. However, I still believe that the death penalty should be reserved for those chosen few who decide to commit atrocities against children. Such is the case of the son of Tai-Ling Gigliotti and Anton Angelo.

This woman, if I should even call her that, had a young son from a prior relationship. She married a man in 1999, Anthony Gigliotti, who became the boy’s step father.  Anthony Gigliotti treated her son as if he were his own. The step father died in 2001 at the age of 79. According to reports, the boys mother started seeing someone else right before the father died. She even moved the new guy in BEFORE her husband died after he was admitted to the hospital. Tai-Ling, along with her new man, Anton Angelo, began to abuse her son and, according to reports, the abuse took a decided turn for the worse last week. According to police and an arrest affidavit, the boy discovered a way to get out of a bathroom he had been locked in. Tai-Ling had locked him in the bathroom, barricaded the window and put a piece of wood across the bathroom door from the outside to keep the boy in there. The boy, however, was resourceful and he found a way out. Gigliotti and Angelo discovered that the boy had found a way to pry open the barricaded window and free himself with a piece of a clarinet so they forced the boy to strip, and then, according to police, Tai-Ling Gigliotti beat him with a piece of wood about three feet long.

When he couldn’t take the pain anymore, he grabbed the piece of wood from her. She called in her big, bad boyfriend and that asshole came in and took the wood away from this kid. Then she proceeded to beat him with the metal and plastic ends of a water hose.  After that, according to police, the child’s hands were bound with packing tape. He was left nude and with cuts all around his body. Tai-Ling then cut the bathroom’s electricity off, leaving the child in darkness. When the couple left the next day, the boy managed to break the door frame and pull the door open. He put on some of Anton Angelo’s clothes and went to a neighbor’s home for help. This poor child weighed just 111 pounds at the age of 16. You might be wandering why he didn’t just escape before. This bitch, if she is even worthy of that term, told him he would be deported if he escaped and so he was scared to reach out to anyone.

The extent of his injuries was just horrific. According to reports, he had a broken arm for at least three days as well as bumps, scratches, and oozing wounds. He also had scabs and scars from repeated beatings. All of this took place in Spring Hill, Florida.

Tai-Ling Gigliotti and her boyfriend, Anton Angelo, were arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment last week. Gigliotti, 50, was released on a $15,000 bond.

This story confirms two things that I am a strong believer in. First, there should be psychological testing before anyone is allowed to be a parent and two, child abusers and killers should get the death penalty. If the allegations against Tai-Ling Gigliotti and Anton Angelo are true, I hope they get exactly what they deserve, but. death would be too good for them. Their actions were above and beyond very stupid.
