A lot of people underestimate the importance of fathers in the family. In fact many people forget just how essential a good daddy is to a child in crisis. I have to say that my hat goes off to Jamie Spears, Britney & Jamie Lynn’s dad. He is divorced from Britney’s mom. Both of his daughters were pulled into the spotlight at an early age. When Britney started sinking into the quagmire that was becoming her life, he stepped in and took control and helped her get herself back on track. His court sponsored conservatorship has been extended indefinitely. That is really something when you think about it!
 
Britney is grown. The hope for any parent is that your child grows up to become a well-rounded success, but once they are grown, it is really up to them. Their choices and goals are what they will follow - not your choices and goals for them. Britney was on a roller coaster ride that was headed down more than it was headed up. Her mom couldn’t help her, although I’m sure she loves her very much. In steps her dad. He took control of everything and started reining her grown ass in. I love it! How many stars have we watched end up dead or dying because nobody around them would stop being a “yes-person”? We have seen it over and over and over again. We all want our kids to come out on top. When we see that it just isn’t going to happen, someone needs to take the initiative and do something about it instead of just watching the train wreck go downhill. Kudos to Jamie for saying “ENOUGH!” and stepping in to help his daughter. To do otherwise would have been very stupid indeed!
