I was just thinking about something. Maybe it has crossed your mind too. The average age of retirement in the United States is somewhere between 62 and 65. In fact, some companies try to entice people into early retirement by giving them additional monetary incentive packages. If you work for the government, you might be forced into retirement whether you want to go or not.

Now, having identified the retirement age as somewhere between 62 and 65, I want to know what is going on with John McCain. McCain is 71 years old. I don’t know about you, but if I’m being honest, I don’t feel comfortable with someone that old running this nation. People who are that old have health problems and, in some cases, slight dementia issues. I don’t care if you have money or not, getting old is getting old and you can’t turn back time. McCain strikes me as a well intentioned man, but just think about your grandfather. Does your grandfather always make good decisions or is he set in his ways? I know my grandfather was. He was 81 when he died.

Since I’m being honest, I will add that I think there should be an age limit on driving. You shouldn’t be able to drive if you are too young and you shouldn’t be able to drive if you are too old. The reality is that I understand the game. Part of the reason why that won’t happen is that elderly people vote. They take their voting rights very seriously and would likely move in mass to strike down such a proposal. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a good idea.

We will see how this all pans out in the general election. There are some people who aren’t going to vote for Barack, if he is the nominee, simply because he is Black. The truth is that those people better think about putting someone who is 71 years old like McCain into the position of President Of The United States. I loved my grandad, but I wouldn’t vote for him to be president! That would be very stupid….in my humble opinion. Yeah I know it’s age discrimination, but let’s face it. There are some things that people are too young for and there are some things that people are too old for!
