OK. I’m sure you have been reading the news. A woman just gave birth to octuplets. All babies survived. The survival part is the good thing. The fact that she NOW has a total of 14 children is the not so good thing. The fact that she lives at home with her parents is the next not so good thing and the fact that she intentionally was fertilized with multiple children at once is one of the final not so good things. I’m all for civil liberties, but this is ridiculous. Doesn’t this woman have anything else to do? Knitting? Sewing? Photography? Helping the sick? Politics? Learning how to use the Cricut Expressions machine? (For those of you who don’t know what that is, go watch the infomercials…..)

Now in all fairness, I don’t know this woman. She might be independently wealthy. She might be trying to start her own nation. She might be a really great mother who has the time to devote to 18 children. Or….she might be a woman in need of my test to determine if she should be allowed to have kids (read any of my previous posts on parents for my philosophy on testing people before they breed). There is no way that a fertility doctor with half a brain should have allowed this “birth-of-many” to take place. There are so many risks to the children when women do this crap. Why can’t some women settle that desire to breed like this with a few puppies? More importantly, why can’t they adopt children that are already here? There are so many children that need a loving supportive home, yet instead of helping those kids out, this woman goes off and has 8 more kids by using a fertility doctor. That fertility doctor should be shot!

This has got to stop. At some point, there needs to be a limit. I know that I’m talking that whole big government thing again, but honestly some people just can’t figure this shit out for themselves. 14 kids is a lot of a dedicated husband and wife, much less a single woman. It just doesn’t make any sense. Instead of doing this, she could have had a couple of kids and adopted a few. It was her choice after all, but damn….what a choice to make! It is going to be really interesting to see how this plays out. I do wish her and the babies all the best. Hopefully, she got “fixed” after she finished delivering. If not, we will probably be hearing from her again…….with more kids….this is so stupid.
