You know I don’t even know why Republican men get married. Let me broaden that a bit. I don’t know why men in politics get married. I guess they think that other people think that if some woman could stand them they must not be that bad. Now we have a new Republican mess on the blackboard. South Carolina’s Mark Sanford. Mark Sanford is perhaps the worst cheater of them all. That is saying a lot considering that Rudolph Giuliani had to be told by a judge that he couldn’t bring his mistress into the mayoral residence where he was living with his wife AND his fucking kids.

Here is the situation. Mark Sanford was been banging some chick in Argentina for the past year. In January his wife found out. She agreed to stay in the marriage if he didn’t connect with his down low bimbo. He agreed and they went to counseling. Recently Mark disappeared and his staffers told people that he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail. He was hiking alright. He was hiking his penis into his mistress down in Argentina! On the government’s dime! Now he has admitted that he was with his mistress and apologized BUT (and this is a fucking big BUT), he says he isn’t going to resign because King David (yes the biblical King David) cheated with a married woman and then had her husband murdered so he could be with the woman! What? WTF? Is that fucker serious?

How does he sleep at night? What a fucking sense of entitlement he has! This is a man who blasted Bill Clinton and Bob Livingston for their cheating. He said they should resign. He was incredulous as he explained how devastating their deceptive behaviour was to their wives and the public good. Now, because the shoe is on the other foot, he thinks he should not resign because the King Of The Israelites had someone murdered? No wonder Republicans have no direction!

Forget the fact that he fucked his wife over. Forget the fact that he used government money to do it. Forget the fact that he abandoned his position without so much as a phone call to let his Lt. Gov. know where he was. Forget the fact that he wasn’t with his four sons on father’s day. Forget the fact that he condemned the other cheaters and said they should resign. Forget that he is part of the family values when convenient Republican party. He isn’t leaving because God forgave King David! Sanford must have skipped over the part where God says that adulterers should be put to death in Leviticus. I guess he is an a la carte cafeteria Christian - just select the parts you need for the moment and spit out the parts you don’t want or the parts that don’t serve you.

I think he should stay in office. His face will remind everyone why the Republicans should be kept as far away from the White House as possible. It will remind people of the hypocrisy which spills so freely from their lips and it will remind people who elected Obama why they made the right choice. Well…..that is until Obama does something wrong. When he does I will just point to King David and say that he deserves another chance. You’ve got to love the hypocrisy right?
