You know what? I swear to you that I really do have important things to do. I really do. However, there are some things in the media that I should ignore, but I just don’t. Take R.Kelly for example. For those of you who don’t know, R.Kelly is a celebrated singer, songwriter and producer. His genre is R&B music. He has written songs for a number of people including people like Celine Dion. Even though I hate to admit it, because some of his music is so absurdly over-sexed, I do like about four of his songs. One is about changing his life and turning it over to God, one is ‘I believe I can fly’ and I can’t remember the titles or subjects of the other two.

Anyway, R.Kelly is on trial for allegedly having sex with an underage girl and taping it. The girl denies that she is the person on the tape and R.Kelly denies that he is the person on the tape. A number of prosecution witnesses have said that it is the girl on the tape and that she was 13 or 14 at the time. Can I ask you one question? If he actually did it, how could you be dumb enough to videotape yourself having sex with an underage kid AND THEN let the tape get out???? WTF??? Is he a dumb-ass or what? First of all, let me be clear. He was stupid, if he did it, for having sex with an underage girl in the first place. That goes without saying. However, if he really did do it and then taped it he has added an extra layer of ultra-stupidity to the whole thing.

The girl refused to testify for the prosecution so they proceeded without their ’star’ witness. One witness for the prosecution said that she had a threesome with R.Kelly and the girl and that he taped it. That same witness also stole $20,000 worth of R.Kelly’s jewelry AND her boyfriend tried to extort $300,000 in exchange for her testimony. I found the fact that she testified to be funny. She is older than the girl that R.Kelly had sex with. Technically, she should also be tried for having sex with a minor. The prosecution wanted her to testify against R.Kelly so I guess they gave her a free pass on that one. Interesting. Anyway, if R.Kelly really did this he qualifies as one of the most stupid people ever - maybe second only to Eliot Spitzer.
