Michael Vick has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles! I’m happy for him. You know why? I’m happy for him because I believe people deserve a second chance. I believe that people who do bad things can change for the better. I was surprised when VIck was sentenced to almost two years for fighting dogs. After all, people commit crimes against animals all the time and don’t get that kind of jail time. I think that losing everything he lost really woke him up. Only time will tell. 

Michael Vick’s sentence of 23 months was harsh, but deserved. Donte Stallworth, on the other hand, was driving drunk, hit a man and killed him yet he got a 30 days jail sentence! I can’t believe that! How is a man’s life not worth as much as a dog? Donte was drunk for crying out loud! How is it possible to actually kill a human and get less time than someone who kills a few dogs? And before someone sends me a message about how the dogs suffered, let me ask you about how this man suffered. Let me ask you about how this man’s family is suffering. What about that? 

All I can say is that Donte got off super easy. I hope that the death of the man he murdered helps him to see the error of his ways the way that prison helped Michael Vick. The prosecutor who made that plea deal, however, is very, very stupid indeed.
