WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STUPID STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD
Do you follow politics? I do. Well kind of. I like a good story. The senate race in Minnesota is a good story. In fact, a really good one. Norm Coleman has had a senate seat for a while. In last year’s election, he lost to comedian turned politician Al Franken. Just to get this out of the way, I want you to know that I voted for Franken. I voted for Franken really not only because I like his ideas, but because of a TV spot his wife did for him. It was so touching that I had to vote for the guy.
His wife became an alcoholic and he held the family together and took care of her. It was a touching piece to be honest. It had me in tears. I never really liked Norm Coleman because I feel like he mismanages things. Any man that refinances his property a total of 13 times is not someone I want in office.
Anyway, Norm Coleman lost the election by 225 votes. Who says every vote doesn’t count? He has been fighting a long court battle to have ballots he thinks would have gone for him counted. So a panel of judges in Minnesota recently made the decision that they would count certain ballots. Here is the only problem - it has increased Al Franken’s lead! Just goes to show you that you need to be careful what you wish for. He is now not only a loser, he is a sore loser by a bigger margin. You just have to love politics - the most stupid game on earth.
