WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STUPID STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD
What value do we place on a human life? I guess not as much as we place on stealing money. I recently heard the story of Philippe Padieu. He was a playboy who foundĀ out that he had HIV in 2005. Instead of stopping his sexual activity, he continued having unprotected sex with women. In 2009 he was sentenced to 45 years in prison for infecting at least 10 women. He will be eligible for parole in 22 years.
Can anyone explain to me how he gets 45 years when someone who stole money gets 150? Isn’t a life worth more than a theft? People can get more money, but you can’t get rid of HIV. I think it really shows what we value as a society.
