WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STUPID STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD
Something shameful has happened last night. Last night the Republicans had a debate. Today, I wish I didn’t know what happened last night. During the debate, questions were taken from American citizens via YouTube. One of those questions led to one of the most hateful, horrible things I have seen on television. A gay service member asked about the candidates about the military’s policy on gay people. Some of the audience members actually booed the service member. I couldn’t believe it! What I found even MORE incredible is that NONE OF THE CANDIDATES ADDRESSED THE BOOING! NONE of them said, “Well I don’t support the gay lifestyle, but I support all of our military members!” or anything even remotely close. I was taken aback. You mean to tell me that only our straight service members deserve our praise? Only they are worthy of being seen as heroes? Most of those people likely consider themselves to be Christians. What kind of person (especially a so called Christian person who is supposed to love his/her fellow man), boos someone who puts his or her life on the line just because he or she is gay? Is THAT the compassion we can expect from the Republicans?
Then, Rick Santorum, who I personally consider to be one of the most horrible people imaginable for several reasons, said that he would REPEAL Don’t Ask Don’t Tell! What? Now what would that mean? That would mean that gay service members couldn’t get off that plane, walk out into the receiving area and be warmly greeted by his or her significant other – just like ALL of the straight service members can. Rick Santorum talked about sex during his response. WHY is it that EVERY REPUBLICAN I have encountered who does not like gay people, equates being gay with sex YET they DO NOT equate being straight with sex? Just because a person is gay does NOT mean they are having sex in the same way that being straight doesn’t mean you are having sex. Why the hypocrisy? Gay servicemen and women risk their lives just like straight service members. They bleed and sacrifice just like straight service members AND they love and hurt just like straight service members. They DESERVE the same adoration, admiration AND RIGHTS that straight service members have. Why is it so hard for these compassionate, conservative, so-called Christian Republicans to get that?
It reminds me of the people who did not want black people in the military. I used to wonder how a person could go and fight for a country that would not allow them to use the same bathroom as a white person or eat at the same place or have the same rights. I used to wonder how it must feel to fight for the freedoms of others when your own country denied rights to you. How sad for those service members that endured that kind of injustice simply because of the color of their skin. Has this country learned NOTHING? Very, very stupid indeed!
As a side note, I just came across what I think is the GREATEST site EVER - http://blog.spreadingsantorum.com/. This site is about none other than the gay-hater Rick Santorum. I don’t like hypocrites and. if there ever was one, Rick Santorum is IT! He thinks partial birth abortions are wrong and should be denied even in cases of rape and incest AND even in the case of possibly saving the mothers life, YET HIS WIFE HAD ONE!!!! LOL!!! Of course he considers his case to be “different” as most hypocrites do. I hate people like that! I would not be surprised if he had a gay relationship or a secret gay lover somewhere. Often the loudest haters are the worse perpetrators.

If you know anything about the Christian faith, is that it is against any and all forms of homosexuality. Religions are sickening like that, as a lot of bad things are from religion itself, pity really, one superior, forgiving God, being the reason why millions die, hate eachother, and do stupid stuff like this. That’s why I have dropped any and all religions from my life.

@Logan I feel the same way. Too many hypocrites out there. This guy puts his life on the line in the defense of his country and gets booed and mistreated by people who consider themselves to be good people. It is sad. It reminds me of segregation. I watched a video on the desegregation of Boston schools. There was a young black girl walking by a white woman and the woman honestly looked like a monster. She was yelling at the girl. The girl had her head down. The picture was very dramatic and I found myself wondering if that woman regrets treating a child like that. I wondered if she ever thought about that picture and felt ashamed for being so horrible to someone she didn’t even know just because of the color of her skin. Too many Christians call themselves good people, but really are not.
