So I have a question for you. Do you know that US citizens are not supposed to visit Cuba? Travel there from the US is restricted. If we aren’t supposed to support Cuba in any way and we aren’t supposed to go there, can someone explain to me why the US has a base in Guantanamo Bay? Isn’t that a little like do as I say and not as I do?

Guantanamo Bay used to be a holding facility for Haitian and Cuban people ‘captured’ trying to leave Haiti and Cuba for the US. Holding Haitians and Cubans there was ruled unconstitutional by the US courts. Then the US got the bright idea to house people not yet convicted of crimes - ‘enemy combatants’ is what the US calls them. They hold prisoners there for years without a trial. People have also been tortured there. You mean to tell me that Cuba is good enough for the military, but not good enough for the everyday average American citizen?

The policy to isolate Cuba until Castro ’submits’ to the will of the US is stupid and hasn’t worked. Hopefully one of the future US presidents will be smart enough to realize that restricting access to Cuba is a very stupid US policy. If the military can go, I want to go too.
