WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STUPID STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD
There are so many more important things going on in the world right now than the Tiger Woods story. In fact, I have started to write many stories over the last few days then simply stopped because all of them have so much weight attached to them. I decided to take the most insignificant story first and roll with that. The most insignificant story, in my humble opinion, is that of Tiger Woods. No! I don’t care about the cheating. His wife and the chicks he has been screwing around with need to worry about that. Instead, I want to focus on what I found to be the most stupid part of the entire situation. Tiger was involved in a traffic accident, yet refused to speak to cops!!! How does that work?
I know they tell you that you have the right to remain silent when you are under arrest (I watch Cops too you know!) and I know that police officers can and will arrest you if you refuse to sign a speeding ticket (Don’t ask me how I know this!), but I didn’t know you could just refuse to speak to them completely. I didn’t know that you could tell them to come back over and over again and then ignore them each time they do. Tiger hit the fire hydrant in front of his property and smashed his truck up on a Friday night. The cops were called, yet Tiger did not speak at length with them on that night. Instead, the cops were told to come back on Saturday. They returned on Saturday and were told to come back on Sunday. They came back on Sunday and were turned away again - this time with no rescheduling.
I don’t know about you, but it never occurred to me that we could tell the police that were aren’t talking or tell them to come back in a situation like this. Maybe celebrity does have its privileges (note the sarcasm) and then again, judging by the way the media is running all through Tiger’s life right now, maybe not. Not talking to the cops is very stupid Tiger - very, very stupid. I wonder how long Nike is going to stand behind him? Hopefully, if they decide to stay behind him, they make sure he isn’t behind the wheel! (That was a small joke - a really small joke!)
