WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STUPID STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD
Trina Thompson gives new meaning to the term “educated fool”, in my humble opinion. Trina recently graduated from college. That by itself should be commended. A lot of people start college and don’t finish. However, Trina can’t find gainful employment - according to her. So instead of going out and busting her butt to do whatever she can to find a job, this chick decides to sue the school for not doing enough to help her. I’m sorry but I have to say it the way I feel it - Bitch, the school HELPED you by allowing you to get a degree! What else do you think they owe you? I’m sorry to curse, (well I’m not really sorry), but it had to be said! What is wrong with people? Doesn’t she have ANYTHING better to do than file lawsuits?
In my opinion, this is a classic example of someone being so stupid that they perhaps should NOT be employed. I know that I personally wouldn’t ever want her near my McDonald’s french fries without the common sense required to correctly apply the salt. What is wrong with her? Does she realize that the country is in a recession? Does she realize that people across the nation have lost their jobs? Does she realize that a college degree isn’t a guarantee of a job? Does she realize that a college is not a job placement agency?
Now, not only does she look like a fool to any and every employer - she also appears to be stupid AND uneducated. Instead of looking at her glass as half empty, she could have done something creative like dress up in a nice business suit, made herself a sign that said “Educated | Talented | Motivated - If you are looking for a great employee - you have found me!”, called local news stations to say where she was going to be and then made an event of it. That would have generated a tremendous amount of press - reporters are always looking for fresh stories - and it would have made her seem inventive, talented and smart. Instead, she decides to take the little bit of money she does have and go file a lawsuit against a college that makes no guarantees about employment after graduation. What an idiot!
Unfortunately for Trina, the Internet has a long life span. News outlets and bloggers have picked up on this story and it is being distributed everywhere. She is going to have to change her name to put this behind her. Maybe she wasn’t thinking that far ahead. Maybe she doesn’t care. Instead of looking smart to employers, she looks angry, inpatient, irrational and lacking in the common sense department - all of the things that employers love in a new employee (sarcasm there) right? All I can say is that suing a college because you can’t find a job after graduation is stupid - very stupid indeed.
Good luck Trina! From the looks of things you are going to need luck more than the degree.

You have some nerve! You don’t know the situation! This school made it seem like they would help you, but in the end they didn’t do what they said they would. Trina trusted the system THEY set up. It isn’t her fault she can’t find a job. They promised to help.

I just have to say that her reation is just like the rest of socity. Sue first ask question later. I find sueing to be a joke and now we are a nation surer who sue for the hell of it. Let stiop this mess and become more responsible

I think her reaction is more typical of the “blame someone else” reaction that we have going on in society. Sue if the issue is appropriate and take responsibility when it is appropriate. If I damage your car and won’t pay for it, then sue me, but if you can’t find a job after going to college, don’t sue the school! That’s just stupid.

I don’t think she expected help. I think she expected graduate careers to fall into her lap and it’s just not like that. The college fulfilled its obligation to her, it gave her an education and she got her degree. The only person who owes her anything is herself.

Nic you are absolutely correct - the only person who owes her anything is herself. This story merits a follow up. I hope that the case was thrown out because it made absolutely no sense at all.
