WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE STUPID STUFF GOING ON IN THE WORLD
I have to be honest when I say that I am absolutely appalled by the actions of some Americans in the health care debate. I watched a fight at a town hall meeting on CNN today over health care and it really makes me angry. Why are people acting like this is something bad? There are millions of Americans without health carewho will benefit with this new plan. Other countries have government sponsored health care for their citizens and although the system has some problems, it works for the most part. Instead of being happy that this administration is finally going to give health care to the millions of uninsured and under-insured, people are playing partisan politics and acting like this is a bad thing because Obama has something to do with it. They fuss about abortions being paid for. They argue over who will be covered. Yet, not one person can say that health care for all is a bad thing. Who gives a fuck if a woman wants to get an abortion. I would rather have her get an abortion than have a child that she doesn’t want so she can mistreat the kid and have him/her grow up to be a serial killer. Those same people don’t mind covering erectile dysfunction medication. In my opinion, if your penis isn’t pumping anymore you should just live with it and thank god for the time you had with it. However, I’m not going to try to stop people from getting help for that if they want that. People are so judgemental. This is just like gays in the military. Must other countries be the guide for basic rights? Why is it that other countries do things that Americans find it so hard to do - like care for the uninsured or letting gay people marry or letting openly gay people serve in the military?
One day we will get it together. I hope I live long enough to see it. I think that I will - I have really, really good health insurance! ![]()

LOL. Tom you are soooo funny! I think you might be right. We have become dependent on other people thinking for us and crafting our beliefs for us. People don’t stop to ask themselves WHY healthcare is needed for everyone and HOW it will benefit all of us. I guess they didn’t put that part on TV yet.

I agree completely. It’s amazing how scared everyone has become in response to Obama’s socialist policies but what can you expect from a country built on the capitalist system. Equality for everyone is indeed scary to those who stand to lose profits. I guess being in a country with the most expensive yet most ineffective health care doesn’t bother anyone. I love how it was okay to spend trillions of dollars on a useless war but the minute taxes might go up for something worthwhile, everyone gets scared. This country is a load of crap.

The better question is where is America going. People don’t stop to think that they are literally one accident or one child birth or one sick parent away from losing their American dream if the government doesn’t do something about healthcare. Sarah Palin talked about death panels. Well right now, the way the current system is, your claim can be denied at any time. This means that you would have to pay out of pocket for a claim you submit because the insurance company decides that you do. That is crazy!

Well said. There are a lot of crazies out there who don’t get this. The crazies are very well organized. I urge you to educate yourselves on these people. One forum is called http://www.resistnet.com–the posts and the chat are very, very disturbing. If you can get past the poor grammar and ridiculous use of punctuation, you will see these people are very well organized. Stupid and organized. Sign up for a membership, read the posts, and go to the chat room. You will be banned for disagreeing with them in any way, so sit back and take it all in. And then get yourself banned. ;D These people will be out in full force come 2010 and 2012. Do not make the mistake of thinking there is no way their idiot candidates will be elected. I made that mistake in 2000. (Even though that idiot was appointed, not elected)

I think the whole point of the matter is this:
Healthcare does need re-formed…
I just don’t trust our government to do it correctly (corruption and greed).
Whoever is holding office as our “President” is simply a puppet.
With the Bush adminstration it was the oil moguls, now it is the bank moguls…
When a system has been around long enough, people will find out how to exploit it.
Our system of government is broken as it stands. We are not a nation ran by the people
anymore. We are a people being led to believe we are a nation ran by the people by manipulation
of the media by the powerful elite, and yes we are stupid for buying into this.

Well no matter who is running it, the truth of the matter is that you can’t trust the insurance companies to self-regulate! Claims are denied every single day by insurance companies and often people who thought they were well insured end up bankrupt because of these modern day “death panels” made up of insurance company people who deny and approve claims :-). Sadly, the government may not be the BEST option, but it is a BETTER option than what we have now. If you are in your 20s, it may not matter, but when you get into your 30s and 40s and have children and end up in an accident where the insurance company denies your claim, it will matter to you then. At that point, it won’t matter if it is the government helping out or not - all you will be thinking about is getting the help you need for your family.

Speaking as a Canadian, I cannot believe that Americans do not want this. It doesnt make any sense. Sure if your healthy then you lose some income. Big whup. Because you know what. One day when cancer strikes or old age sets in, your going to wish you helped out your fellow tax payer when your kids lose their homes paying for your healthcare. Socialism doesnt seem all that bad when put in that form does it.
We dont have that problem here in Canada. No our system is not perfect by a long shot. But its a heck of alot better then what you have down south.
Best of luck fixing this massive problem.

No system is perfect !
No gouvernement is perfect !
To do not trust your gouvernement is safe, really !
The problem is in american if you are very rich you can survive if you have medical issues as well as you are very poor.
However if you are from middle class and you have a serious issue and you medical bills become crazy even with medical insurance you can go bankrupt! Which is CRAZY or your insurance could decide to give up on you because you are too expensive because you have a serious problem and become too expensive even if you have peid them for years
I saw that and I cried cried cried because American people are the best people I ever known and they do not deserve that !
Middle class pay for every one and they can not have access to the services the paid
This is RIDICULOUS
Even small very poor country in Africa have better health coverage than them.
I really do not care about the debate about dems and reps but please do not become low
nobody will choose nobody for you ! this not about that if you think like that you are Stupid and go back to shool please ! Know how to READ !
This is A bout freedom to Choose ANY DOCTOR or Hopital you wnat basically the same that now but to do not have some to tell you we cannot afford your disease whne you have a cancer !
Think think think ! please ! I cried to much when Anthem took my friends life away just for a breast cancer that can be cure in France in three months hospital
Do not let gouverment do it for you but DO NOT LET THE LOBBIST DO IT FOR YOU TOO ! THINK !

Funny thing, a lot of old people who live on some sort of healthcare and know it’s important are against it because they are afraid that their “pie” will be reduced in size.
