I have to be honest when I say that I am absolutely appalled by the actions of some Americans in the health care debate. I watched a fight at a town hall meeting on CNN today over health care and it really makes me angry. Why are people acting like this is something bad? There are millions of Americans without health carewho will benefit with this new plan.  Other countries have government sponsored health care for their citizens and although the system has some problems, it works for the most part. Instead of being happy that this administration is finally going to give health care to the millions of uninsured and under-insured, people are playing partisan politics and acting like this is a bad thing because Obama has something to do with it. They fuss about abortions being paid for. They argue over who will be covered. Yet, not one person can say that health care for all is a bad thing. Who gives a fuck if a woman wants to get an abortion. I would rather have her get an abortion than have a child that she doesn’t want so she can mistreat the kid and have him/her grow up to be a serial killer. Those same people don’t mind covering erectile dysfunction medication. In my opinion, if your penis isn’t pumping anymore you should just live with it and thank god for the time you had with it. However, I’m not going to try to stop people from getting help for that if they want that. People are so judgemental. This is just like gays in the military. Must other countries be the guide for basic rights? Why is it that other countries do things that Americans find it so hard to do - like care for the uninsured or letting gay people marry or letting openly gay people serve in the military?

One day we will get it together. I hope I live long enough to see it. I think that I will - I have really, really good health insurance! :-)
